Orientation Week

Orientation week is a fun, friendly introduction to study and campus life. It doesn’t matter whether you attend on campus or online, your orientation day is a chance to make new friends, get a feel for our campuses (including the digital campus) and ask any questions you might have.

Griffith College hosts a series of activities and presentations during the week to ensure you effectively transition into your study program and get you up to speed to assist you to perform at your best as quickly as possible.

The Griffith College Orientation Program is held over a number of days in the week just prior to the commencement of academic classes. Students will be notified of the dates of their Orientation Program during the Admissions process and are available on the Key Dates page.

You can expect presentations and information covering:

  • in-depth program and course information ( progression requirements, articulation options and transition procedures, key dates, key staff)
  • introduction to learning at Griffith College
  • a walk-through of  the Digital Campus and Moodle Course sites;
  • an introduction to the policy and procedures that govern students’ academic programs and membership of the College community;
  • enrolment assistance;
  • academic and welfare support services and key staff;
  • information on campus and general security, health, safety and welfare guidance and expectations;
  • receiving your student ID card;
  • social events;
  • an introduction to Griffith College Mates and;
  • services and facilities available to you as a student

When is Orientation Week?

What if I can’t make it to orientation?

If you are not able to attend orientation for your program, not to worry! We’ll make sure to record the online orientation sessions, so you can access them anywhere, and at a time that suits you. You will be able to access the Orientation recordings via the Digital Campus main page.

Students who arrive late have less chance of selecting classes in courses that they wish to take during the trimester.
